15-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary: The Great Migration & Northern Circuit
This 15-day Tanzania safari is designed for travellers who want to experience the very best of East Africa in one seamless journey — from elephant-filled baobab landscapes to one of the most iconic wildlife spectacles on Earth: the Great Migration river crossings.
Timed for July to September, this itinerary combines the wild beauty of Tarangire National Park, the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, and the legendary plains of the Serengeti National Park — where the migration drama unfolds.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are welcomed by your guide and driven to your accommodation. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool.
Optional Extras: Tour of coffee farm and village life, shopping tour, waterfall hike
We depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. The park is quintessentially African, studded with baobab and acacia trees and sliced by the Tarangire River. The massive elephant herds here are a highlight, but the park is also home to buffalo, giraffe and big cats.
Meals: B, L, D
We make our way to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. Lake Manyara’s forests host large monkey and baboon populations and the very shy tree-climbing lion. Explore the large hippo pools and the lake shores that are the breeding grounds for thousands of flamingos.

After breakfast, we make our way into the Ngorongoro Crater- a highlight of every safari! The sheer crater walls give way to a wide expanse of land, home to dense animal populations including thousands of flamingos during breeding time. This is your chance for an encounter with an endangered rhino.
Meals: B, L, D
Today we drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti. The Serengeti’s endless grass plains are home to huge herds of wildebeest and zebra. Spend the afternoon watching hunting cheetahs, playful lion cubs and majestic leopards before heading to the lodge for sundowners.
Meals: B, L, D
Another day to explore pockets of the Serengeti’s plains. There is the opportunity today to split the day into a morning and afternoon game drive and return to the lodge for a hot lunch.
Meals: B, L, D
Today we head north towards the Kogatende area of the Serengeti. In the afternoon, game drive around the banks of the Mara River where wildebeest and zebras gather as they move in search of greener pastures.

We try again today to catch the elusive river crossings as the migration goes in search of green pastures in the Masai Mara. This area has dense animal populations and is home to lions, cheetahs, leopards, crocodile, giraffes, elephants, impalas and topis. There is the opportunity to return to the lodge for a cooked lunch.

Today is the final day to explore the isolated beauty of the northern Serengeti region. Again, there is the opportunity to split the day into a morning and afternoon game drive and enjoy a cooked lunch at the lodge.

I live in a conservancy on the edge of the Maasai Mara in Kenya — not as a visitor, but as home.
After more than a decade of living and travelling across Africa, I’ve experienced both the extraordinary and the avoidable mistakes that can shape a safari. That perspective is what defines how I work.
I design bespoke safaris for clients who want something considered, seamless, and entirely tailored to them — from handpicked lodges to the finer details that elevate the experience.
Working with a trusted network of partners across East Africa, I manage every step of the journey, from initial planning through to your return home.
Because a safari should never feel generic — and when done properly, it’s something you’ll never forget.
